How to Set Up Your AI Provider API Key

Supported AI Providers

Aimanix AI Sales Assistant supports four AI providers. You only need one API key to get started.

• OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini, GPT-4o) — Recommended for most users
• Anthropic Claude (Claude Haiku, Claude Sonnet)
• Google Gemini (Gemini 1.5 Flash)
• Groq (Llama 3.1 8B) — Fastest responses, free tier available

Getting an OpenAI API Key

1. Go to platform.openai.com and sign up or log in.
2. Navigate to API Keys and click Create new secret key.
3. Copy the key — you will not be able to see it again.

Entering Your Key in the Plugin

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Aimanix > Settings > Advanced tab.
2. Select your preferred AI Provider from the dropdown.
3. Paste your API key into the corresponding field.
4. Click Save Changes.
5. Use the Test Connection button to verify the key works.

API Key Security

Your API key is encrypted using AES-256-CBC before being stored. It is never transmitted to Aimanix servers — all AI calls go directly from your WordPress site to the AI provider.

Usage Costs

You pay the AI provider directly based on your usage. With GPT-4o-mini, a typical small store costs -5 per month in API fees. Groq offers a generous free tier.
